An Evening with Free Press Founders Robert McChesney and John Nichols

A discussion about the influence of campaign spending on our elections — and our democracy. Media scholars Robert McChesney and John Nichols, who founded Free Press 10 years ago, consider the true cost of out-of-control election spending in their book “Dollarocracy: How the Money and Media Election Complex Is Destroying America.”

Included are remarks by Free Press President and CEO Craig Aaron, Advocacy and Organizing Director Misty Perez-Truedson and University of Massachusetts Assistant Professor of Communications Martha Fuentes-Bautista. McChesney and Nichols discuss Dollarocracy, celebrate Free Press’ founding and look toward the next decade of fight for our rights to connect and communicate.

Filmed on September 30th, 2013 at the Unitarian Society of Northampton. Video by Jenn Ramsay.
