Northampton High student proposes composting station in town’s unofficial “dog park.”

Jonathan Goldman of Northampton High suggests creating a composting site on a portion of land owned by Smith Vocational. The 282-acre parcel was formerly the site of a state hospital. The land was set aside for agricultural use but has become an important recreational area in Northampton. The land lease is up for review and some city and state officials propose changing the way the land is used.
