Zierlein, who recently returned to Western Massachusetts after a brief time in Southern California, is piloting a project with the Northampton Arts Council, that hopes to beautify many of the city’s transformers.
A former illustrator for publications like the New York Times and the Boston Globe, he is now shifting his focus to public art.
“I’m interested in keeping Northampton the artsy kind of town that I found it to be when I first came here twelve or thirteen years ago.”
