Set in post-revolutionary France, Marat/Sade follows the inmates of Charenton, an all-female juvenile detention center, as they attempt to perform a play recounting the Revolution leading up to the present date. Filled with themes of violence, madness, sexuality, and class, the Smith production, directed by senior Emma Weinstein, features a cast of entirely Smith College students. It will be playing in Hallie Flanagan Studio Theater from March 1-2 through 7-9.
