On February 13, 2015, artists from across the Valley braved the cold to participate in the fifth annual Northampton Ice Art Festival. The event was funded this year by the Northampton Radio Group and supported by the Northampton Arts Council and the City of Northampton.
Carvers ranged in experience from professional ice sculpture artists to sculptors, painters, wood carvers, mixed media and installation artists. This year, the festival welcomed back carvers Joe Almeida, Don Chapelle, Eric Fontecchio, Peter Dellert, Greg Stone, Tim de Christopher, Matt Evald Johnson and Chris Nelson, joined by newcomers Sally Curio, Nathan Peterson, and Tom Kellner.
The weather ensured that sculptures scattered throughout downtown remained on display from Friday’s Art’s Night Out through the Valentine’s Day weekend.
